Established in 1977, ECH offers a range of activities from leisure pursuits such as yoga, art, music, language, bush walking, as well as vocational training, adult literacy, computer courses and disability support programs and much much more! Situated in the Main Street of Emerald this is the place for you to gain hands on experience in child care.
Skills You Might Learn
A broad range of skills and experience over a range of ages which will contribute to your practical placement requirements to complete your qualification. Skills attained may include: - Care for babies - Care for children - Developing activities for play and learning - learning through observation. Students placed will increase their knowledge of OH&S and Food Safety. Students will also gain employability skills including how to take direction, working as part of a small team and dressing in an appropriate manner for a childcare environment.
Typical Tasks & Duties
All duties related to childcare including setting up play areas, setting up and supporting children with art and craft activities, assisting with feeding children, supporting children in creative play activities and cleaning duties.
At interview, students will be advised of requirements for the position such as a current working with children check and first aid. You will need to have keen interest for working with children and a willingness to learn how to engage and interact with children. Students must be willing to follow instructions and work within a team.
Neat presentation is required. Closed in shoes, no heels. Sun smart policy applies. Please discuss details with employer prior to commencement of placement
