If you are interested in both business administration and aged care then this placement is for you! Supporting older Victorians and their families since 1969 Southern Cross Care offers a range of high quality support services and programs that aim to enrich people's lives.You will be supervised by experienced staff and given the opportunity to perform a wide variety of tasks building on your administration skills in the community services/aged care sector. This placement will suit a student who is just starting out with business admin AND aged care.

Skills You Might Learn

Using a variety of microsoft office programs you have an opportunity to be creative, making flyers and posters to advertise events and activities. You will learn how to write minutes for meetings, create files and folders, photocopy and printing work, and various administrative tasks relevant to the life style activities occurring.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students may have the opportunity to attain a broad range of skills related to administration in a residential setting. You will assist in tasks relevant to life style activities, preparing flyers, making calendars for events, filing and organising, creating posters, taking minutes at meetings etc. Working well as part of a team, ability to communicate well with people of all different abilities and backgrounds, understanding the requirements of aged care assistance works.

Student Requirements

Being punctual, following instructions and willing to learn and this will be a fun and interesting approach to learning administrative skills.

Dress Requirements

Neat casual, closed toes, no singlets.

Special Transport Requirements

This placement is not easily accessible by public transport.
