Metro Quarry Group Pty Ltd is a specialist manufacturer and supplier of sand and other aggregates to the Melbourne market. Metro Quarry Group is a large independent quarry business. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a variety of skills in vehicle maintenance, and may include minor repairs and maintenance of small vehicles and large equipment such as tip trucks and quarry equipment.

Skills You Might Learn

The student will gain an understanding of basic mechanical services and repair tasks for a variety of engines and vehicles from light to heavy duty equipment relevant to the industry. Students will gain technician skills according to ability and willingness to apply knowledge. Skills of team work, workplace communication, safe work practices will be attained.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Dependent on skill level and ability students will work with a variety of vehicles from small, light vehicles to trucks and quarry/mining vehicles. Work will include some diesel mechanics, and regular maintenance of quarry vehicles.

Student Requirements

A passion and commitment to learn basic skills on a variety of vehicles and equipment. With the right attitude and willingness to learn this will be great introduction to the industry. Strict adherence to OH&S safety and practices are a must ! Initial contact to be made by email, with resume attached.

Dress Requirements

Full length clothing, safety equipment supplied and to be worn at all times.

Special Transport Requirements

Students will need to arrange their own transport to site.
