Incredible opportunity for a small team of students to participate in a Media and Marketing Project at Jets Creative Studios. This team will be creating a virtual Newsroom, investigating Social Media options, and designing and promoting marketing materials for the annual Youth Fest.

Videos, social media, Street press, street team, gorilla marketing and much, much more!
This structured work placement would suit people how are studying the following Subjects:

Located in Bundoora, Jets is a creative arts facility for young people which provides a range of programs and activities. Facilities include a music recording studio, rehearsal rooms, a multimedia training room and dedicated community space. Jets is a place to for ALL young people to

Jets also runs the pathways and training program Jets Crew including - Jets Deep Smash Arts (FReeZA), a committee of local young people who organise drug and alcohol-free music events throughout the year and who are heavily involved in organising YouthFest.

Banyule City Councils Youth Team put on the annual event of Youth Fest at Macleod Park. YouthFest18 is in its 8th year. It is put on for young people by young people. The Jets Freeza crew are a key stakeholder. YouthFest has grown from a music event to include a vast smorgasboard of entertainment including - workshops about youth issues, a creative makers/digital play space, a range of performances styles across 3 stages, multicultural experiences, unconventional sports offerings and even an ethical food -court!

Skills You Might Learn

Potential Skills Attained Teamwork, problem solving, time management, using technology, communication, organisation and event planning. Improve industry awareness working within a youth and community focussed organisation.

Depending on the student's VET studies, they may also have the opportunity to develop aligned skills in Business Administration, Events, Community Services, Music Industry, Screen and Media, etc.

Typical Tasks & Duties

While on placement, students will participate in a range of activities in support of a team goal. Roles may include Admin Assistant, Designer, Sound Tech, Event Services and Videographer.

Students will become part of the Jets Crew, working alongside passionate professionals to design, create, analyse and share materials using a range of media. Videos, social media, Street press, street team, gorilla marketing and much, much more!
