Students are rotated through the various departments and consequently get an over site of the store's operation. Skills You Might Learn
This placement will offer students the chance to attain a broad range of retail skills. They will have hands-on practical experience, while working in a real life scenario. Specific examples are working as part of a team, learning about placement and presentation of stock and learning how to assist customers.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will assist staff carrying out their duties. This revolves around customer service in the various sections of the store. Students will learn about stock replenishment and displays. They will also spend time in the Deli Department, Long Life and the Front End where they will provide customer service on the register, while being supervised.
Student Requirements
The students must have completed the OH&S module in WRS VCAL or else have begun the OH&S module in the relevant VET course.
Dress Requirements
Students are to wear neat casual dress appropriate for the work place.
Special Transport Requirements
Students may need to organise their own transport to work but there is a town bus service.
