2018 Opportunity! This opportunity is for Fridays. At Bluebird Early Education Horsham we are committed to providing an excellent and engaging early childhood education experience for every child in our care. Our program is built on the belief that children will excel when given the opportunity to explore and create within their classroom environment. Our flexible programming is also designed to meet the needs of all children in the classroom. It is child-centered and art-based and helps provide the foundation on which all later learning will be built upon. The Centre works with children from 0-6 years old. This placement is ideal for a student studying Community Services.

Skills You Might Learn

Students may build skills in:
- Ensuring the health and safety of children
- Participating effectively in the work environment
- Providing experiences to support children's play and learning
- Supporting the holistic development of children in early childhood

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will have the opportunity to support child care staff with every day tasks such as supervising children in care and general cleaning. Students will experience a great introduction in to this Early Childhood and Education Industry. Tasks may include assisting in room setup and management, greeting clients/families, creating enjoyable, safe and educational experiences for the children, assisting with food preparation, complying with health and safety procedures and learning from a mentor at the Centre.

Student Requirements

Students must have a keen interest to work within the industry and a willingness to learn. They will have a responsible, supportive and caring attitude, good people skills and are able to accommodate different personalities and abilities.

Dress Requirements

Dress requirements during placements are black or navy, neat, tidy, suitable and safe for the work environment. Discreet jewellery, long hair tied back, closed toe shoes, dress suited to working with children.

Special Transport Requirements

Student will need to find their own transport.
