In this placement students will be working with the Family Day Care team at the SHRCC. This quality service supports parents in the workforce with childcare which benefits both the local and broader economy. Students will have the opportunity to strengthen their employability skills with this placement. Having to operate as part of a team, using workplace communication skills, managing their own time, planning and using initiative and enterprise are all important skills for this opportunity.

Typical Tasks & Duties

If taking this opportunity up for work placement students may find themselves assisting at the playgroup sessions, attending home visits with field worker staff or possibly spending time with a child's advocate if required.

Student Requirements

The student must have completed the OH&S module in WRS VCAL or else have begun the OH&S module in the relevant VET course.

Dress Requirements

Students are to wear neat casual dress appropriate for the work place.

Special Transport Requirements

Students will need to organise their own transport to work but there is a town bus service.
