Skills You Might Learn
Students have an opportunity to attain a broad range of skills while on placement. These include valuable general employability skills such as; - Communication, - Teamwork, - Problem solving, - Self-management, - Planning and organising. Students also attain vital industry skills related to their studies such as; - Hands-on practical experience, - Working in real-life scenarios and environments, - Working with tools and equipment necessary to the occupation, - Liaising and working with colleagues, internal customers and external customers.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will be observing and assisting experienced groundsmen at the Golf Course and ensuring that appropriate OH&S procedures are followed. You will be involved in the course set up, preparation, improvements, raking bunkers and general turf management.
Student Requirements
Students should be comfortable with completing physical work. Students should bring equipment for working outdoors including a hat, gloves, work boots and sunscreen. Long hair should be tied back.
Dress Requirements
Students are required to wear a hat, gloves, work boots, clothes suitable for outdoors work and sunscreen
Special Transport Requirements
This location is best reached by bus or car.
