As a student at CM Electrical, you will be involved in a variety of tasks including assisting trademen with wiring, trench digging, set up, pack up and general labour tasks. Tasks assigned to you will be relevant to your certificate and in line with your current knowledge/skill level. Fridays are not available for 2020

You will walk away from the placement having learnt basic electrical tasks including cabling and wiring, installing appliances, the set up and pack up of the worksite and how to interact with customers and fellow trades people.

Typical Tasks & Duties

A student undertaking this placement is required to be a motivated individual who is willing to put effort into tasks and ask questions. You must have good interpersonal communication skills as you will be representing the company when speaking with clients, trades men and other contractors who may also be completing jobs on the same site. It is important that a student undertaking this placement is punctual and had good time management skills in order to complete jobs on time.

Dress Requirements

Students are required to wear steel capped boots, long sleeve cotton shirt and long work pants (NO SHORTS). Any safety gear and tools will be provided by the employer, if you have any questions about this please ask the employer during your interview.

Special Transport Requirements

The worksites will be located in the Bayside, Kingston suburbs. Students are required to make their own way to and from the worksite.
