Mostly the work is domestic fencing which encapsulates all the finer points of brick laying.
Skills You Might Learn
Understanding how foundation systems work, learning to measure, use problem solving skills and maths to understand dimensions and distances will all be skills you will attain.
Typical Tasks & Duties
You will learn all the skills necessary for laboring with a brickie! including loading and unloading tools and equipment for the days work, moving and stacking bricks, pouring concrete, digging, demolition of old fences, and other work necessary for the trade. You will learn form work, fence construction and, of course, brick laying.
No previous experience is required just a willingness to learn, work hard and a keen interest in learning the trade.
Safety boots will be required as will suitable clothing (discuss with employer at interview) Work shirts will be provided along with safety gear.
Special Transport Requirements
Owner is able to assist with transport if student can get to Narre Warren area.
