Pomonal Estate
Pomonal Estate is a family run, boutique winery located at Pomonal. They have an opportunity for a student to join them for a placement during the January holidays as an Agricultural Worker where they will gain exposure to the overall running of a small winery. The experience will include hands on work in the winery as well as exposure to the administrative and technical side of wine making. Previous SWL placements at Pomonal Estate have resulted in successful ongoing employment for the student.

Skills attained will include;
- Understanding of the wine industry and related agricultural processes
- Hands on experience working with associated machinery and technology
- Time management, team work and workplace communications
Typical Tasks & Duties
Student tasks may include pruning, picking and general maintenance within the vineyard, for all tasks the student will receive hands on guidance from the manager. The student will also be exposed to administrative management within the winery, the technical aspects related to wine making and active involvement with associated hospitality functions such as on-site accommodation, cafe and cellar door.
Student Requirements
- Students are required to have a keen interest in agriculture, broader winery operations and hospitality
- Students must be able to spend extended periods on their feet
- Students must have a willingness to learn and be able to follow instructions
- Students must be willing to communicate clearly and work with a team
Dress Requirements
Long pants and long sleeved shirts are required; enclosed shoes (suitable work boots) are required. A hat and sunscreen will be provided.
Special Transport Requirements
Student must find their own transport to and from this workplace.
