Red Rock Olives
Red Rock Olives produces award-winning extra virgin olive oil, table olives, olive salt, artisan vinegars and more. The olive grove and farm gate café is situated near the Grampians National Park in western Victoria.
Our aim is to produce our products sustainably and ethically, with a focus on providing a paddock-to-plate experience.
Red Rock Olives is able to offer a SWL placement to a student as an Agricultural Worker where they will gain hands on experience working at the Red Rock Olives farm; with a focus on wool production.
Skills You Might Learn
Skills attained will include the following;
- Importance of teamwork
- Time management and punctuality
- Communication skills in the workplace
- Understanding of the local business, wool production industry and associated processes
- Hands on experience working with associated tools and machines
Typical Tasks & Duties
Students tasks will include assisting with activities related to wool production including shearing, crutching, etc. The student will receive instruction and guidance from the manager regarding the operation and use of associated tools and machines. The student will also be exposed to administrative management within Red Rock Olives farm and various operational activities such as the logistics associated with wool production.
Student Requirements
The following requirements must be met;
- Students are required to have a keen interest in the agriculture and farming sector
- Students must be able to spend extended periods on their feet
- Students must have a willingness to learn and be able to follow instructions
- Students must be willing to communicate clearly and work with a team
- Students must be completing a related subject or have displayed an interest in the area
Dress Requirements
Dress requirements will be discussed directly with student.
Special Transport Requirements
The student will be required to arrange their own transport; if transport is presenting a problem please contact CGLLEN to discuss available options and support that can be provided.
