Bayline Power has been in operation for 8 years servicing the Bayside and surrounding suburbs. The company specialise in electrical work on new builds and domestic maintenance jobs. This is a great opportunity for an Electrotechnology student interested in being exposed to lots of different sites.
Skills You Might Learn
Students will gain skills related to their Electrotechnology certificate. Students will also gain experience on a variety of sites, which will diversify their skills giving them greater employment opportunities after their placement. Students will also gain other valuable skills such as team work, problem solving, communication with team members and clients, as well as, time and task management.
Typical Tasks & Duties
The student who is successful in securing a placement with Bayline Power will have the opportunity to work alongside an A Grade electrician, observing and assisting with tools and materials required to complete jobs. Other tasks and duties will depend on a student’s previous experience and willingness to learn. It is a good idea to show the employer you are willing to learn in order to take on more responsibilities.
Student Requirements
Students are required to be studying a certificate in Electrotechnology. You will need to have obtained your white card and completed your OH & S units. Students should also be willing to learn and work hard when on- site.
It is important to the employer that students are confident, open to talking and not being on their phones during work hours.
Dress Requirements
Students are required to have their own steel capped work boots and work pants. Any tools the student may have would be a bonus but not essential.
Special Transport Requirements
Students are required to make their own way to and from work sites or be picked up as arranged with the business. Start location can sometimes be in Elwood, so students will need to be able to get to that location or close by on PT.
