Skills You Might Learn

Students will participate in work safety practices, build customer service skills, use food preparation equipment, prepare simple dishes and work as part of a team. The student may also learn about ethical and sustainability practices in a hospitality environment.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Student tasks include to observe and work with various experienced hospitality staff in the service of food and beverages to patrons. It may include the taking of orders, cleaning and set up of tables, washing dishes, running of coffees, some coffee machine experience, customer service and some register experience.

Dress Requirements

Specific dress requirements are for OH&S. Closed toe shoes, no nail polish, hair must be tied back, no jewellery to be worn on hands, loose fitting trousers to be worn, no tight or ripped jeans. Aprons are provided.
