We manufacture leisure (cabins and villas) residential (2, 3 and 4 bedroom) and commercial (multipurpose rooms, ensuites and amenities) buildings. YMH is a family owned and operated business who have been around since 1998. Construction is usually completed within 10 - 16 weeks. YMH are offering a steel fabrication opportunity to an interested student, this would preferably be a student undertaking VETiS Engineering - Steel Fabrication as it will allow you to practice your skills and build your knowledge on a real work site alongside experienced and qualified tradespeople.

Typical Tasks & Duties

You will acquire practical skills, competencies and knowledge relevant to the Engineering trade to compliment your studies and assist in preparing you for the world of work.

Some of the tasks a student might undertake on work placement include:
• Read basic technical drawings
• Produce a range of items using hand and powered tools
• Use a Electric Welders (Mig)

Students will also use an angle grinder and steel cut off - probo saw.

Student Requirements

The student is required to be completing their Engineering (Fabrication) course as part of their studies and must have completed their white card before using this opportunity. The student is required to take their own packed lunch/drinks on site with them.

Dress Requirements

You will be required to wear safety boots, fluro shirt and work shorts/pants. This will be discussed in the interview..

Special Transport Requirements

Own transport will need to be sourced.
