This placement is in a very modern aged care facility. Students will assist with residents care by being involved in the lifestyle program. Staff at Baptcare are very friendly and management is very positive about the SWL program.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will gain some hands-on practical experience while assisting staff with residents. The students will be working in real-life scenarios in a real life environment.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will work with Baptcare staff to assist them in their duties in relation to the life style or activities program. Students will be required to be an active participant in all workplace practices while being closely supervised by staff.

Student Requirements

The students must have completed the OH&S module in WRS VCAL or else have begun the OH&S module in the relevant VET course.

Students are required to bring their own morning tea and lunch per each shift.

Dress Requirements

Students must wear neat casual dress appropriate for the work place. No singlet tops, a work shirt may be provided depending on the opportunity terms, enclosed black shoes are required for nursing.

Special Transport Requirements

Students will need to arrange their own transport to work.
