This Pet Resort located in the Yarra Valley is a family operated and Award-Winning caring for dogs and cats while their owners are on holiday or away at work.
Skills You Might Learn
Students on placement will build their skills in basic animal care, animal safety processes, teamwork, animal-related cleaning (of shelters and related areas), animal dietary needs and OH&S procedures.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Typical duties may include cleaning the animals sleeping quarters, opening up the yard, helping to prep and feed the animals, animal handling, following all safe working practices.
Working in a team environment, following direction and developing organisational skills are vital and are given the opportunity to be developed throughout the placement.
Student Requirements
Students should understand that, give some of the industry restrictions and safety protocols, there will be a limit to the extent to which students can be involved in hands-on work
** Student must be double vaccinated **
Dress Requirements
Closed toe shoes are required. Students should wear basic clothes as clothing may get dirty.
Special Transport Requirements
Car is the best method of transport for this placement. A bus route may also be available depending on where students live.
