A UNIQUE ARTS AND AGRICULTURAL OPPORTUNITY

Bridgeward Grove is a story of rural Australia, a long standing farming family combined with a long standing theatrical and arts family and what this truly means.

Bridgeward Grove is a destination, which has been created by its custodians Peter and Julie Howard, who have lived on the property for the past 35 years.

Offering a unique venue by the olive grove, olives and produce from the farm, an art space, and a unique marionette show that offers up an entertaining piece of Australian history.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will attain the following skills; Working as a member of a team, workplace communication, following instructions from a supervisor, OH&S procedures relating to Agriculture, time and personal management.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students tasks and duties will include but not be limited to the following; Harvesting produce, transporting produce to crushing plant, assisting with oil production, following instruction in the use of tools and machinery.

This week will precede our event highlighting Andre Sardone’s kinetic sculpture as this week is the Aussie Bird Counting Week. Andre’s work will be an expression of birds seen in our olive grove in particular. Bridgeward Grove is an Agricultural /Arts and the exhibition will be a culmination of his work for the GCOB Artist in residence project.

We will be promoting our olive products for this event on the weekend of the 22nd & 23rd October. Student would be learning a lot about olive oils, olives, preserved in the lead up to this event.

Student Requirements

Students will need to be fit and agile and used to physical work,also to have an interest in agriculture and harvesting produce.Students will need to have completed Safe at Work for Agriculture.

Dress Requirements

Students to wear industry appropriate clothing and covered in shoes or boots.

Special Transport Requirements

Students to find their own way to the farm.
Travel by car or train and bus services are available
