2018 Opportunity!! Do you enjoy supporting younger children with their learning, acting as a mentor, reading books and using technology? A fantastic opportunity exists for a teacher's aide at Horsham's After School Homework Club working with students from Primary and High School. This position would suit a VET Community Services student or any student that enjoys working with children.

Skills You Might Learn

Students may have the opportunity to attain a broad range of skills while on work placement. These may include valuable general employability skills such as: - Communication - Teamwork - Problem solving - Initiative and enterprise - Planning and organising - Self-management - Learning - Technology Students may also attain vital industry specific skills which will relate to their studies such as: - Hands-on practical experience - Observing and learning from industry qualified and experienced professionals - Working in real-life scenarios and environments - Working with tools and equipment necessary to the occupation and business -

Typical Tasks & Duties

Typically tasks will include but not limited to, general classroom duties, helping the students individually or in small groups with educational based activities, including listening to their reading, support the students with e-learning, construction activities and board games. Preparing activities under the class room teachers instructions and assist with out of school excursions if applicable. Packing up, cleaning up and food preparation if you have appropriate qualifications.

Student Requirements

Must enjoy working with children, have initiative, a 'can do' attitude and empathy and adhere to confidentiality guidelines.

Dress Requirements

Students are to wear neat dress appropriate for the work place plus closed in shoes.

Special Transport Requirements

It is the student's responsibility to organise their own transport.
