This newly refurbished Aged Care facility in Lilydale is offering SWL placement opportunities for students studying a Certificate in Allied Health, Aged Care or Community Services. Catering for all levels of permanent and respite care, the facility offers elegant and relaxing surroundings for residents and visitors with 24 hour care provided by professional and friendly staff. Students will be working with the Lifestyle Coordinator undertaking lifestyle activities with residents.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will extend their knowledge of the Aged Care/Allied Health/Community Services Industry, gain a greater understanding of the various roles and professions within an Aged Care facility, learn about and participate in Occupational Health and Safety protocols and observe Allied health professionals including PCA's and lifestyle coordinators workers in a practical setting.

Typical Tasks & Duties

During this placement students will: accompany, assist and observe the lifestyle coordinator and lifestyle team members; work and communicate effectively with Aged Care residents; take part in lifestyle activities, be exposed to medical terminology; observe and take part in some of the practical and logistical components of work in the health industry; comply with infection control policies and OH&S procedures.

Dress Requirements

Students to wear closed-toe non slip shoes and dress smart casual business attire.
