The Natural Pasta House is a Northern suburbs based pasta manufacturer and retailer that was established in 2001, and is now offering 1 Structured Workplace Learning opportunity to a Year 11 and 12 student that would like to gain new food preparation and cooking skills.
Skills You Might Learn
You will learn how to make different types of pasta and work effectively in a commercial kitchen; including hygiene, health and safety, and security procedures. How to store foods at correct temperatures, and working within a team. Develop new time management and forward planning skills.
Typical Tasks & Duties
You will be required to provide customer service and operate cash register. Assist in the preparation and the making of pasta. Wash and clean utensils and dishes and make sure they are stored appropriately. Handle, sort, store and distribute food items. Wash, peel, chop, cut and cook foodstuffs, and help prepare salads and desserts. Sort and dispose of rubbish and recycling. Maintain clean working environment. Clean food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas.
Must have a positive attitude. Good communication and customer service skills. Willing to learn. Punctuality and reliability is an essential requirement.
Smart attire that is comfortable.
