If you are looking to gain experience during your engineering studies then this is a great opportunity for you! Littlejohn Embrey produce 100% Australian designed heavy engineering equipment and attachments for demolition and earth moving purposes. They manufacture on site in Pakenham Victoria which includes custom building buckets for excavators 50 tonne and above. This equipment is used in mining, demolition and earth moving. Starting with a 10 day placement students will be given the opportunity to continue if they show a willingness to learn and to work as required.

Skills You Might Learn

You will perform metal fabrication operations, basic welding and thermal curing processes to fabricate engineering structures and depending on you level of experience you will gain experience in grinding and welding. You will gain skills related to being in the workplace such as time management, working to a schedule, following instructions, understanding the importance of safety in the workplace.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Student will assist in the workshop with all aspects of fabrication and preparing equipment and attachments for heavy engineering and earth moving machinery. You will gain experience with welding and grinding metal.

Student Requirements

Able to use common sense, willing to learn and follow instructions, have an interest in engineering and able to use small electrical tools.

Dress Requirements

Must have safety boots, suitable clothing for working with machinery, long sleeves, long pants. PPE gear will be provided.
