Typical Tasks & Duties
Tasks & Duties:
-Under supervision and with support-
• Support participants within planned groups and/or individual activities in accordance with individual participant care plan goals
• Assist to ensure that groups and/or individual activities are conducted in a safe and appropriate manner, to achieve the intended outcomes
• Creating an environment which embraces Interchange Gippsland values and promotes person centred practice
• Liaise with participants, their families, advocates and other services as required, to assist in the day to day running of groups and/or individual activities
• Attending to practical requirements involved w i t h the running of the programs, i.e.: organising and handling equipment, replenishing equipment and/or reporting equipment damage, cleaning duties related to direct service delivery, driving bus or car, travel planning with groups or individuals
• Providing personal care as needed, which may include, as examples: mealtime, bathing and toileting assistance
• Undertaking all required administration duties including daily individual case documents, file notes, keeping accurate financial records; utilising computer systems
• Meets all NDIS requirements relative to the provision of support services
• Attend training and network meetings as required
• At all times to operate in accordance to Interchange Gippsland policies and procedures
• Displays a professional manner whilst representing Interchange Gippsland in the community
• Completes incident reports when necessary
• Debriefs with volunteers and other staff about issues that arise during or after an activity
Student Requirements
• A positive attitude
• An interest in supporting people with varying disabilities
• Willingness to learn and take on feedback and advice
• Working with Children Check (if over 16 years)
• Maintenance of participant’s privacy and confidentiality.
Dress Requirements
Comfortable neat clothing appropriate to the activity. First day i.e. jeans, runners, t-shirt, jumper, hat and coat (dependant on weather).
Special Transport Requirements
Student to arrange own transport. Interchange can assist in coordinating transport options if required.
