You will have an opportunity to learn the many aspects of customer service in the building & construction and the retail industry. You will be supervised by experienced staff who have a passion for training and will be given the opportunity to work across a number of different departments dependent on your studies and interests.
Skills You Might Learn
Skills relating to stock replenishment, merchandising and customer service whilst gaining product knowledge. Your host aims to assist students with obtaining the skills necessary for their VET certificate should they be in the position to. Basic customer service skills, work safely in the industry and working as part of a team are all important skills to learn.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Assisting staff as required, providing customer service, stocking shelves, cleaning across a number of trades. Depending on your area of study and interest you will learn customer service and a variety of skills in a number of areas which may include: Building & construction, cabinetry, plumbing, electrical, painting and decorating, landscaping, horticulture, shop fitting, retail and administration (pricing). The area/s can be negotiated with the supervisor.

Must have a genuine interest in working as part of a team that upholds principles of integrity, respect, teamwork, achievement and innovation. Punctuality and commitment are essential and for those who show genuine interest there are opportunities for employment. Team work is the heart and soul of this business.
Dress Requirements
Smart casual dress. Closed toe shoes (Safety boots may be required)
Bunnings uniform is provided for the length of the placement.
Special Transport Requirements
Students must provide own transport to and from the office site. Public transport is available.
