The company opened in Portland in 1974, Hamilton in 1988 and acquired The Painter's Pot in Swan Hill ten years later. This is an opportunity for a student who wants a quality introduction to the painting and decorating trade.

Skills You Might Learn

Student will learn to remove old paint or wall paper by using sanders, scrapers, heat guns, liquid paint removers,and stream strippers as appropriate. Preparing surfaces filling and sealing,washing and removing dust and grime and helping to match colors and styles will be attained.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Painters and Decorators apply paint,varnish,wallpaper and other finishes to protect, maintain and decorate interior and exterior surfaces of domestic and commercial and industrial building and other surfaces. Student will assist with surface preparation, keeping a tidy work place unloading and maintenance of tools and equipment.

Student Requirements

Student will be required to cope with the physical demands of the job,able to work at heights, enjoy practical work, have good hand eye coordination and normal color vision.Able to work independently and a good sense of balance is necessary.

Dress Requirements

Safety boots and trade gear required.

Special Transport Requirements

Student will need to be able to arrive at the workplace before 7.30am
