Skills You Might Learn

In alignment with your Business Admin studies, you may have the opportunity to develop your Data Entry speed and accuracy, customer service and reception skills, understanding of admin processes including communication (post, email, marketing), document keeping (archiving, filing, copying, shredding) and the use of various office technologies.

Transferrable skills which are vital in this workplace include teamwork, problem solving, planning and organising, and especially demonstrating initiative.

Typical Tasks & Duties

During this placement, the successful candidate may undertake the following tasks;
- Filing, shredding, copying
- Reception duties including incoming calls, email and post
- Assist with media and marketing for upcoming projects and events
- Work on project based activities, depending on timing

Student Requirements

This placement is best suited to a VCE or VCAL student currently undertaking Business Administration studies.
In order to best develop their business skills, and provide a consistent contribution to the employer, the student should ensure they are available on a consistent basis every week for the duration of their placement. Please consult with your school and ensure alternative arrangements are made with regard to sporting or extra-curricular activities and excursions to minimise absences.

Dress Requirements

Smart casual, suitable for office. Closed shoes, no tights. To be discussed further at interview.

Special Transport Requirements

Venue is close to bus access.
Travel Form is not required as the student will not be travelling between sites.
