If you have an interest in steel fabrication and design then Stainless Services Pty Ltd is a brilliant company where you can apply your learnings to the trade. Stephen the owner is keen to host a local secondary student by providing them this opportunity to learn all aspects of steel fabrication. A bespoke engineering company, they design and manufacture products in line with customer requirements using only the best grade stainless steel. Steve has owned and operated the business for the past 30 years and currently employs 6 people who have remained with the organisation for many years, an indication of his hard work and honesty. You will be mentored and well supported throughout your placement.


Skills You Might Learn

Knowledge in the fabrication and assembly of stainless steel customised products (generally for the dairy and food production industry - tanks etc). Application of safe work practices. Apply safe welding practice. Knowledge and understanding of job specifications and how to apply them. Practical application of hand tools.

Typical Tasks & Duties

You will learn all aspects of the fabrication process first hand by actually participating in the following tasks: welding, grinding and drilling of steel products. You will be given the opportunity to read job specifications and follow the process from production to installation at various customer sites.

Student Requirements

Stainless services are seeking a student with a genuine interest engineering, related to steel fabrication. Stephen is looking for an honest and reliable student. Must be undertaking a related engineering VET course.

Dress Requirements

Safety boots, work clothes. All safety equipment to be supplied, ie glasses, ear plugs etc.

Special Transport Requirements

Smart Bus 902 via settlement road, 7 minute walk to factory.
