Being an SBAT with us means you'll learn on-the-job skills in an engaging and fun warehouse environment. You'll also join a supportive team that can help you set and achieve your workplace goals. During your employment you will work towards a Certificate II Warehousing Operations which can lead to further study or a range of roles in the warehousing sector.
This SBAT program is designed as 2 - year program for VCAL students who have a disability.

Skills You Might Learn

You will gain skills needed to work in a range of warehousing and logistics roles. Skills learn include: how to receive and coordinate incoming goods, picking and packing, teamwork, communication, safety in the warehouse, administrative tasks, and so much more. Best of all you'll grow the confidence needed to work in a real work environment.

Typical Tasks & Duties

This program is designed to ensure that students learn a range of duties related to the modern warehouse. Typical tasks and duties include sorting incoming goods, packaging and assembly, communicating jobs requirements to team mates and also following warehouse safety protocols.

Student Requirements

** Students with a disability are strongly encouraged to apply for this SBAT **
This program is specifically designed for those who have either a physical, intellectual or learning disability. Students will spend 2 days a week at our Training Centre. One of those days will involve 7 hours of paid work , the other will be 6 hours on-the-job learning. Studnets will need to apply a Tax File Number and bank account in their name. They will also need an 'Occupational Assessment for an Australin Apprentice with Disability Form' (Form 608). For more information on this form you can head to www.australianapprenticeships.gov.au

Dress Requirements

Students must wear steel-capped boots and comfortable clothing. ** No tracksuit pants**

Special Transport Requirements

Public transport available - bus services.
Bus service 400 (coming from Sunshine or Laverton train stations) stops less than 200m from our Training Centre.
