Coffee Hit is offering three SWL placements to enthusiastic students to work alongside experienced and friendly staff who understands every aspect of specialty coffee and seasonal food. Coffee Hit sources the freshest, specialty grade coffee and food ingredients direct from farmers and make it accessible to coffee and food lovers . Coffee Hit have created a warm and welcoming environment that entices people to return time and again. Staff are community focused and maintain consistency in service and quality food.
For any aspiring chef, Coffee Hit is also offering an apprenticeship position to commence early next year.
Skills You Might Learn
The students would gain:
- an understanding of the hospitality industry
- customer service and team work skills
- understanding of food handling requirements and OH &S requirements for cafes
- ability to work within a fast paced environment
- ability to work through customer queries and problems
Typical Tasks & Duties
The students would be required to:
- take orders from customers and answering questions they may have about the menu
- cleaning tables and ensuring the café is clean generally
- seating guests
- service food and beverages to customers
- follow directions from supervisor
Student Requirements
The students are expected to:
- be diligent, polite, enthusiastic and well organised
- have a friendly and positive demeanor and an ability to work with different work flows is important
- able to listen and follow instructions
- pay attention to detail
- good communication skills
- ask questions when needed to ensure understanding
- maintain safe practice at all times
- An interest in hospitality and an understanding of what the role of a food and beverage assistant is, would be valuable.
Dress Requirements
- Neat casual pants and shirt
- Enclosed shoes
