This is a great opportunity to work within a bespoke engineering company in Epping. David (MD and Owner) is keen to train and support a student with a genuine interest in design and engineering. This Structured work placement could turn into an SBAT for the right student. Belmatic industries offer specialised precision engineering and also manufacture applied fastner coatings. Headquartered in Epping and serving clients nationally, Belmatic Industries is the leading applicator of chemical locking material in Australia, and has been serving the fastener industry with pre-applied coating solutions for over 25 years. David has been working in the industry since 1979 and has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field. You will be working with a friendly and informative team who will support your learnings.
Skills You Might Learn
You will learn various machine operations. Set up of assembly station. Basic soldering. Control surface finish production. Application of protective coatings. Prepare specialised coating materials and production. Problem solving skills. More generally, you will operate as a team member when conducting engineering activities.
Typical Tasks & Duties
From day one you will be in the thick of it. You will provide assistance working with machinery, there is a lot to learn as the warehouse is full of different machines for different fabrication purposes. You will also be working on the automatic fastner coating machine, applying sealants, lubricants and thread-locking adhesives to various sized bolts.
Student Requirements
Dave is looking for someone with a genuine interest in design and engineering. A student who is engaging and can take initiative when required.

Special Transport Requirements
Epping train station is a 20 minute walk. Bus 357, 358 and 569 all pass Cooper St. Get off at Miller St corner and walk a few minutes down Miller St to Mary St.
