These particular opportunities exist in the sheetmetal area of the business.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will be building on their general engineering skills and in particular with sheetmetal work, plan interpretation, sheetmetal work, working within teams and general workplace communication skills.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students who are undertaking a VETiS program in Engineering will be building upon the skills they are learning in their course. Duties may include; spot welding, cutting sheetmetal, folding sheetmetal, use of rollers & guillotine, interpreting engineering drawings and plans, safely handling various materials and use of hand and power tools.

Student Requirements

This position requires a student who is keen to gain engineering experience (particularly in sheetmetal work) within a large company specialising in insulation. The student would be introduced to all aspects of design, manufacture, installation, maintenance, recycling and research on energy innovation within the insulation industry.

Dress Requirements

Students must wear steel capped boots, overalls or long pants and long sleeve shirt. The employer will supply students with safety glasses & hearing protection.
