This Placement is with a very experienced local builder.
Employer will be very supportive of students doing SWL and will offer a valuable opportunity for students to gain skills and experience on a wide range of building projects.

Skills You Might Learn

Students may have the chance to develop skills/understanding in:
-knowledge of building maintenance
- knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools
- knowledge of workplace safety procedures
- client services

Typical Tasks & Duties

Typical task includes using hand /power tools to measure cut and join timber framing. This will be as part of team using effective communication. Some manual labour will be required. Site set up (fencing, locating power etc..) and clean up.

Student Requirements

You don’t need to have experience, but you need a genuine interest in the trade and have strong willingness to work in this area. Maintain interest and participate in work duties. You are required to be punctual, well mannered and behave in a respectful and responsible manner. An OH&S safety “White Card” is required before commencing work within the team.

Dress Requirements

You are required to supply your own work pants and steel capped work boots. T-shirt, glasses and gloves will be provided by the employer.

Special Transport Requirements

Public transport is limited so own transport or negotiate transport with the Employer.
