We are one of the region’s top bowls clubs and are proud to have won a number of different awards over time. The WBC is open every day of the week and most public holidays during the year, but we are more than simply a bowls club, as we are the premier social destination in the area, as well.

The WBC is your place to unwind, to enjoy a bevvie and a meal, soak in some live music and play a game of bowls!
This is an opportunity for a hospitality student to experience a busy vibrant kitchen. Warrnambool bowls club has a large busy dinning room and the kitchen is a warm welcoming place.

Skills You Might Learn

Student will learn the basic skills in food handling, plus all health regulations requires for this industry. OH&S will be part of the role. Student will gain skills in preparing food, plating food, making sure orders are complete and delivered in a timely manner.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Student will be expected to assist the qualified staff with washing and cleaning utensils and dishes, handle, store and distribute food items, wash, peel, chop,cut and cook foodstuffs help prepare salads and deserts. Cleaning of food preparation area and equipment , floors, and other kitchen tools will be required.

Student Requirements

To work in a busy kitchen the student needs to have good personal hygiene, able to work quickly and safely, able to work under pressure, have good communication skills and willing to ask questions and follow instructions. Team work is the most important skill one needs in a kitchen.

Dress Requirements

Polo top black, loose fitting black pants, chef ones would be suitable. Covered non slip shoes, no jewelry. Hair tied back.

Special Transport Requirements

Student to make own way to bowls club.
