This workplace is modern and functional. It combines a workshop/warehouse with a bright and interesting retail area selling lighting. The owner has many years of experience and a long history of supporting student work placement. Staff are supportive and students will be given worthwhile experiences in the various aspect of a major electrical company.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the very basic principles of electricity and of the use of specific tools and procedures relevant to electricity supply and uses. Students will learn how to interact with work colleagues and possibly customers, on a limited basis.

Typical Tasks & Duties

This position will include duties such as tidying stock areas and basic electrical procedures under supervision. Students will work with other employees to assist them in their roles. Also students will be required to be an active participant in all workplace practices.

Student Requirements

The student must have completed the OH&S module in WRS VCAL or else have begun the OH&S module for the relevant VET course.

Dress Requirements

Neat casual clothes suitable to an electrical workplace plus sturdy footwear are the requirements.

Special Transport Requirements

There is no public transport so students need to make their own way to work.
