Victorian Skating Centre
*A exciting opportunity has come available for sport and recreation and hospitality students* The Victorian Skating Centre situated in Lilydale is keen to give motivated student's an opportunity to learn and assist with the running of the skating centre. The student will learn different aspects of the business from understanding the importance of maintaining equipment, to assisting customers with their skating requirements through to customer services and Cafe duties. This opportunity is only available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Skills You Might Learn
Students will develop their customer service skills, time management and organisational skills, will have the opportunity to learn what is involved in running a small business and have a better understanding of the health and safety processes within the fitness industry.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will have the opportunity to do a variety of tasks from assist customers, maintaining roller skates and general maintenance, assisting with teaching new skater's, working in the Cafe preparing and servicing coffee and food, cleaning, assisting with mixed abilities section on Tuesdays, learning the sound booth for D.J. duties and I.T. skills. Depending on the students skills and interest other business opportunities could be available. Students will also be observing the running of the roller skating centre and be able to assist the management team.
