A great opportunity has been offered in the Construction Industry – Bricklaying as an Assistant Tradesperson - Bricklayer at Ang D’mico Bricklaying.

Ang D'Amico Bricklaying is a local company with many years’ experience in the bricklaying trade. Ang provides a quality finish to all work performed when building or repairing walls in accordance with construction plans to a build or refurbish of chimneys, arches and other structures. Ang has applied his professional skills in bricklaying to many settings in this region including residential and commercial projects.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will gain an understanding of and develop the basic skills related to working in the Construction Industry - Bricklaying.

Students will learn to work in a team, communicate effectively in the workplace, be punctual at all times, present at work in appropriate work attire, follow instructions, complete work with a good eye for detail and adhere to OH&S requirements at the work site.

Typical Tasks & Duties

The student will observe and spend time under the direct supervision of experienced and qualified bricklayer assisting with general bricklaying tasks and duties.

Tasks and duties may include assisting to plan, prepare and organise daily work, safely manual handle building and construction materials, basic hand tools and equipment for bricklaying, help prepare surfaces for bricklaying, safely use basic bricklaying hand tools, apply OH&S requirements for the construction industry and clean and maintain the worksite.

Student Requirements

Whilst the student is attending the work experience placement they are expected to:
• Show a genuine interest in the Construction Industry - Bricklaying.
• Carry a Victorian Construction Induction Card (CI Card), please note: obtaining the CI Card is required prior to attending the work experience placement.
• Be willing to observe, listen and learn while working in our team.

Dress Requirements

The student will be required to present at work in the following work attire;
• Work pants.
• Hi visual shirt.
• Steel capped work boots.
• Wide brim hat.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the tasks and duties carried out by the student, will be supplied by the Host Employer.

Special Transport Requirements

Student to arrange own transport to and from work.
