Construction assistant
CAF Consulting
This placement is for a Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) assistant within the construction industry. A person working in this role will monitor the safety and compliance of construction projects. CAF Consulting is one of Shepparton’s leading construction project management firms, where students can sample the different work sites and responsibilities over one week. Students will be exposed to the various tasks that HSEQ staff perform on a day-to-day basis. They will use industry-specific equipment and learn about the skills and qualifications they would need to attain a job like this in the future.

Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will learn how to follow relevant business practices, follow planning documents, read technical drawings and learn about safety, compliance and project planning. Students with their CI / White Card will be able to accompany professionals to various sites as projects are planned and delivered. Students without a CI card can still participate but can not attend worksites.
Student Requirements
This placement would suit students who are studying and/or have an interest in Human Resources, construction, engineering and working outdoors. A CI / White Card is required for the student to be able to visit construction sites.
Dress Requirements
Work wear, clothes that protect from sun and cold, and safety boots if attending worksites.
