MetalCraft Roofing and Cladding is offering an SWL opportunity to students. They are a newly established business, specialising in residential builds, metal roofing and architectural cladding. The majority of the work is in the Northern and Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. With over 17 years experience in the industry, the owner has vast experience in training and mentoring young people.

Skills You Might Learn

- The students will learn how to use hand and battery operated tools
- Understand the mechanical process of installing tile roofs, bedding, pointing and capping on residential, and other types of buildings.
- Gain an introduction to technical drawings to install roof tiles for roof of various angles on residential and other building projects.
- Team work
- Understanding of OH&S requirements in plumbing.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will learn about various aspects of roofing and cladding, such as:

- Colourbond Roofing
- Installation of colour bond products
- Spouting
- Guttering
- Downpipes
- Fascias
-Cleaning up sites

Student Requirements

The students are expected to:

- be diligent, polite, enthusiastic and well organised
- be able to follow instructions
- show attention to detail
- have problem solving skills
- have good communication skills
- ask questions when needed to ensure understanding
- maintain safe practice at all times.

Dress Requirements

Must wear work pants and long sleeved shirt, dress appropriately for weather.
Safety footwear.
