This Warehouse Operations Assistant placement allows students to be based in the Shepparton warehouse and work as a storeperson. Students will gain an insight into the transport and logistics sector and learn the operational tasks involved in day-to-day operations in a busy workshop and warehouse.

Typical Tasks & Duties

This is a varied role and students will gain experience in unpacking mechanical parts, repackaging and returning items, using software involved in stocktaking and inventory management, as well as general labouring and cleaning duties. The student will also have an opportunity to learn workplace communication, safe work practices and how to cooperative effectively as part of a skilled local team. Duties may include;
- Identify and adhere to OHS procedures relevant to the industry and organisation
- General stock handling duties
- Assist with basic workshop duties
- Use of basic tools and software relevant to trade
- Cleanup of workshop as required

Student Requirements

A genuine interest in transport, warehousing or mechanical parts is ideal. The student will be willing to learn new skills and take pride in tasks undertaken. The employer values good communication skills, teamwork, punctuality and initiative.

Dress Requirements

Trade clothes, a hi vis op and safety boots are required in the workshop. During summer a hat is recommended.

Special Transport Requirements

Students will require own transport. Public transport may be available to location.
