An exciting opportunity exixts for a Work Experience Placement as an Electrical tradesperson with O'Brien Electrical Echuca-Moama. During your placement, you will gain valuable, practical and real-world experience in various aspects of residential, commercial and industrial electrical maintenance and services.

Skills You Might Learn

Some skills that you may attain in this placement will include carrying out measurements and calculations, observing the safe use of hand and portable power tools, safe use of ladders, the basics of wiring, installation and testing of electrical equipment. During your placement, you will also learn employability skills such as:

Typical Tasks & Duties

Under the supervision of trained electricians, students may assist with tasks including:
Electrical and data maintenance
Testing malfunctioning equipment and identifying defects
Troubleshooting
Repairing equipment with assistance
Completing maintenance work orders

Student Requirements

Students must be punctual, willing to learn and have a genuine interest in the trade. Students must also be prepared to work both inside and outside and observe and practice all safety requirements with a level of maturity and understanding.

Dress Requirements

Steel-capped work boots, long sleeved shirt and pants
