From the grapevines to your glass, see behind the scenes of a local winery. This will be an opportunity for the student to work in the laboratory at Mitchelton Winery. The placement will include monitoring and collecting samples, cleaning equipment and maintaining a clean workplace. Adhering to OHS procedures.
*Students will not be involved in tasting or sampling alcoholic products.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Monitoring fermentation processes and recording data
Collecting grape, juice, and wine samples for analysis
Assisting with lab tests for sugar levels, acidity, and other chemical properties
Cleaning and sterilising lab equipment and glassware
Maintaining a clean and organised workspace
Adhering to OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) protocols at all times

Student Requirements

Interest in science, particularly chemistry
Ability to follow detailed instructions
Commitment to safety and cleanliness

Dress Requirements

Comfortable, business-casual attire suitable for lab work
No open-toed shoes

Special Transport Requirements

Student needs to make their own transport arrangements to this workplace
