St Faiths Childcare offers a great opportunity for placement students to experience a holistic approach to Childcare in a caring and nurturing environment. St Faiths offers part time and fulltime care for children from the ages of 0-6, including 3 and 4 Year Old Kindergarten programs. We are committed to providing programs that cater to children’s physical, intellectual, social and emotional needs, through a range of learning environments including sensory play, creative play, and more structured activities. We promote health and safety, including a nutritionally balanced diet for our children. We value people, partnerships, community and family, and respect for the environment.
Skills You Might Learn
Whilst on placement the student will learn skills aligned with their VET studies including;
• Provide care for children
• Provide care for babies and toddlers

• Work within the relevant ethical and legal framework
• Promote and provide healthy food and drinks
• Develop cultural competence

Typical Tasks & Duties
Whilst on placement, students will assist with a range of Early Childhood activities in alignment with their VET studies. This includes assisting with the provision of care (including healthy food and drinks, educational and play activities, health and safety) for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers, setting up and packing up activities and story time. Students may assist with the check in and check out process, and will have the opportunity to support and observe staff with more complex tasks as appropriate.
(NB. Some personal care activities such as nappy changes will NOT be permitted.)
Student Requirements
Placement ideally suited to students studying a certificate qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care.
Dress Requirements
To be discussed directly with employer at interview.
Students should wear neat casual clothes that are suitable for an active work environment, and that may get dirty.
This should include;
Closed toe shoes, minimal jewellery, long hair tied back for safety reasons. A broad brimmed sun hat must be worn outside when UV levels reach 3 and over.
Special Transport Requirements
The service is located within walking distance of Montmorency train station.
