This is an opportunity to build both high-flow and low-flow regulators and gain experience at every step of the process. There is a construction and assembly area where components are brought together to fulfil orders. A workshop for drilling, shaping and making parts that go into specialised valves, manifolds, gas panels and a variety of highly specialised parts for the medical, aviation and scientific industries.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will be assisting tradespeople with all aspects of the operation including reading engineering drawings, collecting components for jobs, cleaning workspaces, basic welding, grinding, fabrication and packing of customer orders under supervision.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Assisting in the building of regulators and
assembling the componentry for different products. Tasks include using upright drills, brazing brass fittings, chrome plating and coating brass. Students will be assisting tradespeople with all aspects of the operation including reading engineering drawings, collecting components for jobs, cleaning workspaces, basic welding, grinding, fabrication and packing of customer orders under supervision.

Student Requirements

Students are required to have strong Literacy and Numeracy skills and be studying for an engineering qualification. Certificate II in Engineering Studies, Certificate II in Engineering, Certificate II in Engineering(Production Tech), Certificate II in Engineering Pathways, Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade, Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade
