This fantastic tennis facility houses ten individually-fenced courts (including a range of surfaces, some with lights). The spacious clubhouse overlooks courts, lawn, garden and playgrounds, with gum trees along the Yarra River as a backdrop. What a wonderful place to work!!
The head of Coaching and Development is looking for self-motivated and highly organised students to provide support to the coaching staff, one day per week.

SWL or SBAT opportunity available in 2024 for the right student.

Skills You Might Learn

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to demonstrate their transferrable skills, including customer service, communication, teamwork, problem solving and time management. Aligned with Sport and Recreation studies, the student will practise workplace health and safety, planning and instruction of fitness and outdoor recreation programs, basic warm up and cool down activities, etc.

Typical Tasks & Duties

The successful candidate will assist with tennis coaching programs, working with players aged from 5 years upwards. They will work alongside experienced and qualified coaches to support general fitness, improvement of strength, technique and conditioning. They may also assist with other administration tasks such as post and email communications, social media, marketing and promotions, in alignment with the needs of the business.

Student Requirements

An interest in tennis is advantageous, but not essential, as placement would suit any Sport and Recreation student looking to improve their coaching and Sport industry skills. Best suited to a VCE/ VM student undertaking Sport and Recreation studies.
This is an ideal position for a young person interested in sports or tennis coaching and will look great on your resume.

Dress Requirements

Dress appropriately for a sporting environment, such as tennis shoes and active wear. Exact details to be discussed further at interview.

Special Transport Requirements

No Travel Arrangement Form will be required for this placement, as all placement hours will be complete onsite. The venue is easily accessible by train and bus.
