Park Maintenance Assistant
Students attending SWL Placement at City of Glen Eira will work with the Sports Turf Management Team, who look after 44 ovals around the LGA of Glen Eira, comprising of football, soccer & cricket, including 16 turf cricket wickets. During your placement with the Sports Turf Management Team, tasks will involve: Cricket wicket preparation, irrigation and ground maintenance. Students will also be required to use a hand mower and basic hand tools. Students have the potential to gain the following skills: teamwork, communication & organisational skills, interpersonal skills, use of hand tools, general course and gardening maintenance, irrigation, and course upkeep.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Student Requirements
Ideally, students should have an interest in gardening maintenance. They should also be enthusiastic and willing to learn, be punctual, with neat presentation, a strong work ethic, and be prepared to work in all weather conditions. An interest in sporting oval/park maintenance is desirable.
Dress Requirements
Neat and tidy appearance, including long pants and a hat. Safety boots must be worn.
Bring sunscreen and a hat in Summer.
