SBAT Placement- Exciting opportunity to join a team with one of the largest ranges of metal-forming machines for the manufacture of industrial fasteners in Australia. Producing metal fasteners, turned screws and pressed nuts since 1930.The student will assist the qualified staff with a broad range of tasks beginning from the original drawings of the product right through to the packaging and shipping of the product all over the world.

The student will be required to enjoy practical work, enjoy technical and engineering activities, willing to adhere to safety requirements, have good attention to detail while being able to work as part of a team or independently. Having good oral and written communication skills and the ability to be reliable and punctual will ensure you the position.
Typical Tasks & Duties
The student will assist the qualified staff with a broad range of tasks such as setting up and adjusting metalworking machines and equipment, grinding of die, thread cutting, perform maintenance on cold forging machines and assemblies and repair or replace faulty parts. dismantle faulty tools/machines and assemblies and repair or replace faulty parts. Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies and apply OH&S standards across all areas.
Student Requirements
The student will attain skills in basic machine processing, an understanding of using power tools, handling fabrication materials and engineering equipment. They will be able to identify quality requirements assuring accuracy of the parts.
Communication, teamwork, problem solving and time management are vital in this workplace. The successful candidate will also experience a wide range of technologies including diagnostic, testing and measuring equipment, along with the variety of tools required to perform mechanical maintenance tasks required

Student vaccinations must be up to date according to age and eligibility, according to Government and industry guidelines at the time of placement.
Dress Requirements
Students should ensure that they wear steel-capped work boots and pants. Hi vis tops and safety work gear will be supplied. No loose hair, clothing or jewellery.
Special Transport Requirements
Students need to organise their own transport to the work place.
