AGL Loy Yang asset consists of a 2,200 megawatt power station, together with an adjacent brown coal mine which is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. The power station supplies approximately one third of Victoria's power requirements. As a work experience student in the Information Technology Team at AGL Power Station, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience of processes with a leading energy provider.
The Information Technology (IT) Assistant at AGL/Loy Yang A Power Station will assist the IT team in supporting and maintaining the technology infrastructure used by the power station. This work experience placement offers hands-on experience in network management, troubleshooting, software support, and IT security, providing valuable exposure to the role of IT professionals in the energy sector.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Student Requirements
• Student, preferably in year 10 to 12 with an interest in Information Technology, computer science, or related fields.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Good communication skills for assisting staff and documenting IT issues.
• Familiarity with common software applications like Microsoft Office, and some understanding of networking (preferred, but not required).
