Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will gain hands-on experience across all aspects of the business. This placement will provide you with a range of opportunities to develop your skills while working alongside experienced industry professionals.
During your placement, you may undertake some of the following:
● Assist with various tasks related to managing constructed and remnant bushland
● Develop further knowledge about plants, ecological restoration and conservation
land management
● Practical hands on work
● Onsite observational skills
● Work in a team and also independently
● Use hand & garden tools
● Learning about indigenous plants by weeding, pruning, planting
● Apply safe handling and use of small plant and power tools, under supervision.
● Observe OH&S procedures on site
● Clean site equipment under supervision
● Stack, store and inventory of materials
● Perform general tidying
Student Requirements
Some employers have specific requirements relating to student placements. These may

employer or attending an OH&S induction prior to commencing a placement.
Dress Requirements
Most employers will have an expectation on what is appropriate dress or a requirement
(such as safety or uniform) for the workplace. Please discuss with employer for details
relating to any personal protective wear, including protective clothing, boots, gloves, hats,
sun safety requirements etc
