This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in the beauty industry. The placement is suitable for both Work Experience (WE) and Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) students, providing valuable exposure to a professional salon environment while developing practical workplace skills, industry knowledge, and confidence. Students undertaking work experience and SWL will not perform treatments involving needles, cosmetic tattooing, or any other invasive procedures. Where appropriate, students may observe these treatments to gain an understanding of industry techniques, infection control and hygiene standards, client care, and professional practices.
Students will only participate in activities that are appropriate to their age, experience, and competency level. All placement activities will be determined by the employer in consultation with the student's Careers Practitioner/Pathways Coordinator and in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.

Beauty treatments and procedures through observation and supervised learning.
Depending on the student's skills and competency, they may gain exposure to lash services, brow services, spray tanning, salon preparation, and retail product knowledge. Participation in specific activities will always be determined by the employer in consultation with the student's careers practitioner/pathways coordinator.
Students will also develop valuable customer service skills, including active listening, professional communication, client interaction, and problem-solving.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Students should:
Have a genuine interest in the beauty industry or be currently undertaking a Certificate III in Beauty Services.
Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Have good communication and customer service skills.
Be able to follow instructions and work safely.
Present professionally and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene.
Respect client privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Student Requirements
Student must have a keen interest in Beauty Services or currently be undertaking a Certificate III in Beauty Services. Students must also have the ability to show initiative and respond to direction.
An ability to show initiative and follow direction is essential along with a friendly and helpful attitude.
Dress Requirements
Students are required to wear:
Neat casual clothing suitable for a professional salon environment.
Closed-toe shoes.
Appropriate personal presentation and good hygiene.

The salon is located at Shop 4, 182 Monash Drive, Dandenong South VIC 3175 and is accessible by public transport. Bus services operate along Monash Drive and surrounding roads, with connections available from Dandenong Railway Station, making the location accessible for students travelling by public transport.
