WI Building Services is a Craigieburn based company that designs, manufactures, and installs modular and prefabricated buildings. Operating out of our two Craigieburn factories in Melbourne’s north, we manufacture for clients in local councils, industry, construction, and commercial businesses all over Victoria. Placement opportunities exist for two enthusiastic and committed students, who are also high performing and driven to work alongside experienced and friendly trades people with WI Building Systems.

We specialise in prefabricated buildings for councils and businesses. Our design team works with our clients to meet their specifications whatever type of building they need, but some common building types we work on are modular sports pavilions; modular offices; switch rooms; prefab toilet blocks; extensions to existing buildings;

As our clients grow and evolve, the fast turnaround times awarded by modular manufacturing means we’re able to support and facilitate their growth in a quick and cost-effective way.

Skills You Might Learn

Knowledge in using hand tools and power tools, measuring and calculating, thermal cutting, project design, welding and safety in the workplace. Applying principles of occupational health and safety in the work environment. Learn to work with others in a manufacturing / engineering related environment.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Assisting to make modular sports pavilions; modular offices; switch rooms; prefab toilet blocks; extensions to existing buildings. Using hand tools to assist in a job and perform manual production assembly. Apply basic fabrication techniques. Using computers for engineering work activities, and static and manual tools. Measuring a job with graduated devices and perform basic calculations.

Student Requirements

Must be eager and interested in learning and developing new skills. Must be pro-active and enjoy problem solving. The student must be reliable and punctual.

Students must wear protective clothing and safety footwear (steel cap boots),
